Babini kuki sweater
Date: 08/07/2006
[8/7/2006] This comes from a kit I got from Babini kuki/Aristo Fashion in Bulgaria -- they sell kits including the yarn and pattern, or they will hand-knit any sweater they offer especially for you, to your own measurements. I really loved this design, so I decided to buy the kit. I did alter it in two small ways: first, the original pattern was a turtleneck and I'm not that fond of them, so I made the neckline shorter; and second, I did set-in sleeves instead of drop since I like my sweaters more fitted. I love the result and almost wish it were winter so I could wear it! Pattern source:Babini kuki/Aristo - designer is Galina Dacheva. They do not have online ordering, nor can they take credit cards; I had to send them the money for this kit via Western Union. Well worth it, though; I love the sweater and will probably end up buying more kits from them at some point. They even included a pre-done swatch with the kit so I could see what the pattern looked like! (The usual disclaimers apply...I'm in no way affiliated with them.)

Leaves in Relief
Date: 09/23/2006
[9/23/2006] One of the reasons I wanted to learn to knit was to be able to do stuff like this. Similar things can be done with crochet, but usually you have to do front-post stitches, which make for a thick fabric. So when I found this pattern, I had to try it. Pattern Source: This pattern was designed by Ariel Barton and can be found on Knitty.com.

"Amhra'n Gra'" (Love Song) sweater.
Date: 12/07/2006
[12/7/2006] I made this sweater for Ray, out of Lion Brand Wool-Ease. This was one of the more complicated patterns I've done so far, with something like 6 different kinds of cables. It wasn't particularly difficult, though. And it was knitted in the round, which meant there was no sewing! Pattern Source: This pattern was designed by Bev Warner and is available from Knit Picks.

[12/31/2006] I liked Ray's mittens so much that I had to make a pair for myself. I had to alter the pattern for my smaller hands, but it was pretty easy. Like Ray's, mine are made from Koigu wool. Pattern Source: Original design by Janis Cortese is available on Knitty.

Microfiber ribbon cable pullover

Okay, time to pick a new color -- mostly by coincidence, this is the same color as my last project! Pattern Source: Both the microfiber ribbon yarn and the pattern came from Tess' Designer Yarns. It was designed by Sue Wright Pederson.

The cool thing about this pattern is that there was no need to add the neckline after the front and back were done -- it was incorporated right into the pattern. I like that a lot.

Celtic Knot Raglan
Date: 04/10/2008
[4/10/2008] My first stranded pattern! Took a while (about 3 months), but I finally finished it just in time for spring and warm weather. Oh well, I can wear it next winter. Pattern Source:Sweaters from Camp by Meg Swansen, Amy Detjen, and Joyce Williams. This pattern is by J. Dale Long. I couldn't find yarn as small as the pattern called for, so I used Elle Elite and altered the pattern to adjust for the new gauge.
