In my last post, I mentioned that I’d noticed a decline in quality on the left side. About a month ago, my audiologist had someone from AB come and do an integrity test. Today I found out the results, and it turns out that 6 of the 16 electrodes are failing as a result of the same issue that AB issued a recall notice for in late 2019. She turned off those electrodes and tweaked my program, but it sounds even worse. Still, I decided to give it a chance and see if it gets better as my brain gets used to it. If not, I will ask her to put it back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition, I am going to schedule an appointment to talk to the surgeon about revision surgery (removing the implant and replacing it with a new one). The issue is likely to get worse, and I want to get it fixed as soon as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
